About

A charitable incubator for medical AI

Who we are

Apex AI Institute Inc. is a domestic not-for-profit corporation organized under the New York State Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.

Governance highlights

  • Directors serve without compensation during the initial year.
  • A written Conflict-of-Interest policy governs any transaction involving a director or a director's immediate family, requiring disclosure, recusal, and documentation in the board minutes.
  • All educational materials and research outputs are released under open licenses without paywall.

How we work

Our current focus is three charitable pillars — using AI to accelerate drug development, using AI to advance medical education, and applied AI literacy for small enterprises and communities. Each pillar has an active Year-1 program and open-licensed outputs. See our mission for how each pillar maps to a strategic goal.

We operate as a charitable incubator: public-benefit research stays within AAI, and if a project matures into something with commercial potential, it may be spun out into a separately organized for-profit entity. Any such transition will be approved by the board on fair-market-value terms and fully documented.

Our pillars

Three pillars, one public-benefit mission

AAI's charitable purpose in Year 1 spans three active pillars. Each is a program line with open-licensed outputs and non-exclusive partnerships.

1

Using AI to advance end-to-end drug development

Machine-learning methods applied across the drug-development pipeline — biomarker innovation, novel target identification, investigator and site selection, and smarter Phase I/II trial design — reducing the distance between laboratory signal and first-in-human evidence.

2

Using AI to advance medical education

Open, accessible curricula co-taught with higher-education partners — giving pre-medical students, clinicians, and the public the knowledge required to use AI responsibly in healthcare settings.

3

Using AI to advance small business operations

Open-source curricula, recorded talks, and practical tooling that help solo and small practices, community organizations, and developers put AI to work in daily operations — delivered as public education, not paid consulting.

How we work

Three operating principles

The operating posture behind every program — built by the people who teach it, shared without fee, replicable by anyone.

01

Clinician-led design

Programs are designed by the directors who will teach and publish them — not outsourced to third-party curriculum vendors.

02

Non-exclusive partnerships

Every collaboration — academic, community, or institutional — is non-exclusive. Partners can replicate anything we build.

03

Open-license outputs

Syllabi, code, recordings, and methods manuscripts ship under permissive licenses, with no paywall or approval gate.
